About this calculator

How do I convert CGPA to percentage?

On a 10-point scale, a widely used rule is percentage = CGPA × 9.5. For example, a CGPA of 8.0 becomes 76%. Some universities use CGPA × 10 or their own formula, so check your marksheet.

Which formula should I use for an application form?

Use the formula printed on your marksheet or transcript, or published by your university. If the form asks for a percentage and your university gives no rule, many admission offices accept CGPA × 9.5, but confirm with them first.

How do I convert a 4-point GPA?

Choose the 4-point option. It divides your GPA by 4 and multiplies by 100. Universities abroad may use other tables, so check with the university you are applying to.

Does a higher percentage change my eligibility?

Many online programmes ask for 40% to 50% in your previous degree. A counsellor can check the exact requirement for the programmes you are considering.
